In this exciting short, we learn all about letting go and relaxation. Ironically, it’s taught by a professor that is WAYYYY too uptight and stoic. As our video skills slowly increased with each Read-A-Riff, we add more and more to the videos to enhance the experience. Here we added some graphic elements and animation.
It’s that time of year again! This year we are moving from a booth to an artist alley table. The reason is that everything in our booth this year will feature items that are 100% made and drawn by us. I will be selling prints that range from Mystery Science Theater 3000 to League of Legends, while Linda will be selling her amigurumi dolls. This year she will feature: Tom Servo Groot Rocket Raccoon Annie and Tibbers Plus some miscellaneous items My Tom Servo and Crow robots will BOTH be back again. However, due to some ‘handsy’ people at last year’s … Continue reading
There’s a movie out there who’s visual effects not only left me speechless, but the story was so exciting it had me on the edge of my seat. I’ll bet you think I’m talking about Guardians of the Galaxy or Captain America, aren’t you? Well, my friend, I’m sorry to say you’re wrong. I’m here to talk about the greatest B-Movie ever made, Birdemic: Shock and Terror. Or as I like to call it, Schlock and Error. If you visited RailingKill before, you know that I am a fan of bad movies. I don’t know what personality flaw or brain … Continue reading
This was my first attempt at a Read-A-Riff. It took the most time and I think the results speak for themselves. It’s an educational short from Encyclopedia Britannica called ‘Don’t Get Angry’. It was made in the 50’s (obviously) and includes one of my favorite riffs as one kid is trying to build something on a workbench. Enjoy!
For fans of B-Movies, you know it doesn’t get much better than The Room by Tommy Wiseau. There are few films harder to watch (like Birdemic or Avatar), and even fewer that are more fun to riff or have more memorable lines. You do have to give it up for Tommy, though. At least he had the balls to do what few of us would even try, and that is to finance, write, film, and star in your own movie. Grognard’s always watch a bad movie and think, “I could do better.” Well, independent people like Tommy, Neil Breen, John DeHart, … Continue reading
So, what exactly is a ‘Read-A-Riff’? It’s our way of riffing a short film without interfering with the audio. The reason for this medium is because that’s how I was raised… on B-Movie riffing. About 3 years ago I was introduced to a group called Riff-Club, formerly NoFadz (withazee). I was delighted to find a group of people that suffer from the same thing I’ve been living with for years and that is making fun of some really bad stuff. Every Saturday night we watch a hand-picked B-Movie and then riff the selection using a chat panel. We do this … Continue reading
